What this policy covers

This policy describes how ScrollChef handles information when you use the service. ScrollChef is operated by Quiet Oak Labs LLC in Virginia, USA.

Information we handle

• Account information, including the email address and authentication information you provide to create or access an account.
• Source links you submit and the recipe data generated from or edited for those links, such as ingredients, instructions, titles, and saved-cookbook status.
• Essential service and security logs. ScrollChef does not currently use analytics beyond essential server logs.
• Pseudonymous operational usage records for recipe processing, such as model, operation, status, and provider usage values when available. These records are kept locally for cost, reliability, and abuse-control operations and are not public identifiers.

How recipe processing works

To turn a submitted source into a recipe, ScrollChef may temporarily process media, audio, captions, transcripts, and recipe information. OpenAI may process transcription and recipe-structuring inputs for this purpose. We use this information to provide and operate the recipe-extraction service.

Service providers

• OpenAI may process recipe-extraction inputs, including transcription and recipe-structuring requests.
• Stripe may process payment information when payment features using Stripe are enabled.
• Resend may deliver service and account emails.
• Cloudflare may provide edge, security, and delivery services.

Cookies and session storage

ScrollChef uses essential cookies or equivalent session storage to keep you signed in and protect account sessions. We do not currently use advertising or behavioral analytics cookies.

Retention, exports, and deletion

You can export individual recipes and your saved cookbook from available in-app export controls. Finished recipes may remain available after paid extraction access ends so you can review and export your work.

To request account-data deletion, email deleteme@scrollchef.app. We may need to retain limited information where required by law or to protect the service.

Age requirement

ScrollChef is not intended for children under 13. Do not use the service if you are under 13.
